I'll trace the call to the center of your bed…

Ligesom gårsdagens featurede band – hænderne op for Crystal Castles! – har også Foxes In Fiction hjemme i Toronto, Canada, hvorfra debutalbummet Swung From The Branches netop er blevet udsendt…

Hello, Joe

I thought about the semi-final of the Champions League in 2005 when I ran onto the field and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. I was thinking about playing in that atmosphere every week and that swung it for me. I have played in London all my life. I could have stayed at Chelsea because the fans loved me and I won things, but I wanted to challenge myself and when I knew Liverpool were interested it was a no-brainer because they are the biggest club in the country.

Joe Cole behøver ikke noget medietræningskursus…

England styrer!

Six Premier League clubs have all banned controversial vuvuzelas from their stadiums this season. Arsenal and Tottenham were the first top flight sides to banish the instrument, with Birmingham, West Ham, Sunderland and Liverpool quickly adding to the list of vuvuzela-free stadiums.

Lisbon-tracklist

Juveniles
Angela Surf City
Follow The Leader
Blue As Your Blood
Stranded
Victory
All My Great Designs
Woe Is Me
Torch Song
While I Shovel The Snow
Lisbon

Put a blanket across my face, it's a tragedy…

The Walkmen spillede forrige weekend hovedscenen på Taste Of Minnesota-festivalen ved Mississippi-floden.

“This ugly, vulgar, hard, hermetic, hardly eye-catching, hardly football style, yes it served the Dutch to unsettle Spain. If with this they got satisfaction, fine, but they ended up losing. They were playing anti-football.”

4'th of july

vinnys

Burde vel egentlig kun fejre Tyskland efter deres glædesspredende 4-0-KO i går over Argentina, men amerikansk Independence Day kræver også sin ret, så tag denne bunke filmisk-romantiske ord fra 1973, skrevet fra et strictly New Jersey-synspunkt af den unge Bruce Springsteen:

4TH OF JULY, ASBURY PARK (SANDY)

Sandy the fireworks are hailin’ over Little Eden tonight
Forcin’ a light into all those stony faces left stranded on this warm July
Down in town the circuit’s full with switchblade lovers so fast, so shiny, so sharp
As the wizards play down on Pinball Way on the boardwalk way past dark
And the boys from the casino dance with their shirts open like Latin lovers on the shore
Chasin’ all them silly New York virgins by the score

Sandy the aurora is risin’ behind us
This pier lights our carnival life forever
Oh love me tonight for I may never see you again
Hey Sandy girl
Now now baby

Now the greasers, ahh they tramp the streets or get busted for sleeping on the beach all night
Them boys in their high heels, ah Sandy their skins are so white
And me I just got tired of hangin’ in them dusty arcades, bangin’ them pleasure machines
Chasin’ the factory girls underneath the boardwalk where they all promise to unsnap their jeans
And you know that tilt-a-whirl down on the south beach drag
I got on her last night and my shirt got caught
And they kept me spinnin’ baby, they didn’t think I’d ever get off

Oh Sandy, the aurora is risin’ behind us
This pier lights our carnival life on the water
Runnin’, laughin’ ‘neath the boardwalk with the boss’s daughter
I remember Sandy girl
Now now now now now baby

Sandy, that waitress I was seeing lost her desire for me
I spoke with her last night, she said she won’t set herself on fire for me anymore
She worked that joint under the boardwalk, she was always the girl you saw boppin’ down on the beach with the radio
The kids say last night she was dressed like a star in one of them cheap little seaside bars, and I saw her parked with Loverboy out on the Kokomo
Did you hear the cops finally busted Madame Marie for tellin’ fortunes better than they do
For me this boardwalk life is through baby
You ought to quit this scene too

Sandy, the aurora is rising behind us
This pier lights our carnival life forever
Oh love me tonight and I promise I’ll love you forever
Oh me and Sandy girl
Now now now now now baby
Yeah promise Sandy girl
Shala la la la baby…
