2. Tiny Bradshaw – Train Kept A Rollin’ (The) (1953)
3. Little Junior’s Blue Flames – Mystery Train (1953)
4. James Brown & The Famous Flames – Night Train (1961)
5. The Pyramids – Train Tour To Rainbow City (1967)
6. The Monkees – Last Train To Clarksville (1967)

Hejsan Jens. Fin side!
Jimi Hendrix: Hear my Train a-comin’
Duke Ellington med Ella Fitzgerald: “Take the A train”
Coltrane “Blue Train”
Guns n roses “Night train”
Bob Marley “Zion Train”
Oscar Petersons Nighttrain
Vi ses. Igen: Fin side.

you don’t need much money to ride the silver train
just enough to keep yourself from sleeping in the rain
satellites are chasing silver clouds away and
technicolor raindrops wash gumballs down the drain
gonna leave the city, gonna hop a train tonight
gotta one-way ticket and the moon is shining bright
gonna leave the city, gonna catch the Hudson Line
’cause you know I love the city but I haven’t got the time
satellites are chasing the silver clouds away
mercury’s are falling, yeah, who forgot to pray
silver trains will whistle and glisten by the moon
Molly has her kite and Joe has his balloons
satellites are chasing silver clouds away
I’m stuck on the tracks to sleep away the day
gonna leave the city, gonna hop a train tonight
gotta one-way ticket and the moon is shining bright
gonna leave the city, gonna catch the Hudson Line
’cause you know I love the city but I haven’t got the time

Yeah…what’s the frequency, Vermouth?
Impressions-sangen er fin. Walker Brothers har også lavet den.
LAND OF HOPE AND DREAMS
Grab your ticket and your suitcase
Thunder’s rolling down the tracks
Don’t know where you’re goin’
Sky is turnin’ black / But you know you won’t be back
Well darlin’ if you’re weary
Lay your head upon my chest
We’ll take what we can carry
And we’ll leave behind the rest
Big Wheels rolling through fields
Where sunlight streams
Meet me in a land of hope and dreams
Well, I will provide for you
Yeah, and I will stand by your side
You’ll need a good companion, darlin’
For this part of the ride
You leave behind your sorrows
Yeah, this day at last
Tomorrow they’ll be sunny skies
And all this darkness past
Big Wheels rolling through fields
Where sunlight streams
Meet me in a land of hope and dreams
This train
Carries saints and sinners
This train
Carries losers and winners
This Train
Carries whores and gamblers
This Train
Carries midnight ramblers
This Train
Carries broken-hearted
This Train
Carries souls departed
This Train
Dreams will not be thwarted
This Train
Faith will be rewarded
This Train
Carries fools and kings
This Train
Hear the big wheels singing
This Train
Bells of freedom ringing

Hvor kan man høre Vermouth-lokalradio?
The Impressions: People get ready
People get ready, there’s a train comin’
Don’t need no baggage, you just get on board
All you need is faith to hear the diesels hummin’
Don’t need no ticket you just thank the lord
Må heller ikke glemme Gene Clark’s ensomme “I Remember The Railroad” på listen over store togsange.
I REMEMBER THE RAILROAD
I see the travelers comin`
I watch them rollin` down the line
I see the transits movin`
I remember the railroad line.
I see some smilin` faces
Common place like they`ve peace of mind.
So many different places
I remember there`s more than one kind.
From a place that I can call my home
Down the road that I must call my own
I see no easy way
Today I`ve got to say
I don`t mind seeing what I`m being shown
So I see the jet planes flying
I watch them out of sight
I keep on what I`m tryin`
Hoping that time will treat me right
I remember the railroad line

Top 3 over togrædsler gennem tiderne:
3. Kylie Minogue – Locomotion
2. Electric Light Orchestra – Last Train To London – jeg mindes nogle fester i folkeskolen

Hillbilly-rockeren “Lonesome Train (On A Lonesome Track)” fra 1957 med Johnny Burnette & The Rock ‘n Roll Trio er en seriøs contender her. Samme vilde Memphis-band indspillede også en hæsblæsende, distortet “Train Kept A Rollin'”
LONESOME TRAIN
Lonesome train on a lonesome track
I’m going away, ain’t coming back
I’m going somewhere far from my baby
On a lonesome train, on a lonesome track
Lonesome train on a lonesome track
Got all my troubles in one big pack
My baby left me so sad and lonely
On a lonesome train, on a lonesome track
Lonesome train on a lonesome track
My girl don’t love me and that’s a fact
No use in living, no use in dying
On a lonesome train, on a lonesome track
Oh, lonesome train, on a lonesome track
I want my baby, I want her back
Don’t want to go on forever travelling
On a lonesome train, on a lonesome track

Andre kandidater:
Scotty – Draw Your Brakes fra Jens’ helt egen Jahride PA-musik
The The – Slow Train To Dawn
The Pogues – Night Train To Lorca – end anden tog klasikker fra Shane MacGowan
Tom Waits – Downtown Train
Gasolin – Perron “Gare Du Nord” – IKKE Get On The Train
Trains & Boats & Planes – I Like Cars – ja okay …
The Smiths – The Draize Train – for dårligt et nummer til at Morrissey gad skrive en tekst til det
Love Shop – En nat bli’r det sommer – mælketoget stopper her ikke længere
R.E.M. – Driver 8 – Take a break, Driver 8
I had a job, I had a girl
I had something going mister in this world
I got laid off down at the lumber yard
Our love went bad, times got hard
Now I work down at the carwash
Where all it ever does is rain
Don’t you feel like you’re a rider on a downbound train
She just said “Joe I gotta go
We had it once we ain’t got it any more”
She packed her bags left me behind
She bought a ticket on the Central Line
Nights as I sleep, I hear that whistle whining
I feel her kiss in the misty rain
And I feel like I’m a rider on a downbound train
Last night I heard your voice
You were crying, crying, you were so alone
You said your love had never died
You were waiting for me at home
Put on my jacket, I ran through the woods
I ran till I thought my chest would explode
There in the clearing, beyond the highway
In the moonlight, our wedding house shone
I rushed through the yard, I burst through the front door
My head pounding hard, up the stairs I climbed
The room was dark, our bed was empty
Then I heard that long whistle whine
And I dropped to my knees, hung my head and cried
Now I swing a sledge hammer on a railroad gang
Knocking down them cross ties, working in the rain
Now don’t it feel like you’re a rider on a downbound train

He likes to have the morning paper’s crossword solved
Words go up
words come down
fonnrards
backwards
twisted ’round.
He grabs a pile of letters from a small suitcase
Disappears into an office
it’s another working day.
And his thoughts are full of strangers
corridors of naked lights.
And his mind once full of reason
Now there’s more than meets the eye.
Now a stranger’s face he carries with him.
He likes a bit of reading on the subway home
A distant radio’s whistling tunes that nobody knows.
At home a house awaits him
he unlocks the door
Thinking: once there was a sea here
but there never was a door.
And his thoughts are full of strangers
and his eyes too numb to see.
And nothing that he knows of
and nowhere where he’s been
Won’t ever quite like this.
And his thoughts are full of strangers
Corridors of naked lights. . . .
And at heart he’s full of strangers
Dodging on his train of thought.

MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO SUMMER
It’s still in the night
of some early spring delight
I went wild in the woods
had to leave as soon as I could
Here comes the midnight train to summer
Here comes the midnight train to summer
Small pearls of dew
was it all the green grass knew
In my land of snow
only darkness grows
Here comes the midnight train to summer
Here comes the midnight train to summer
Go on! Go on!
I’m waving it all farewell
I wrote my song
and I’m ready to go
It’s still in the night
of some early spring delight
I’m going to the land of the sun
I’m going to be the only one
Here comes the midnight train to summer
Here comes the midnight train to summer
