– When did I first come across it? A friend of mine said, “You\u2019ve gotta listen to this band, they sound a bit like Suede\u201d. I was curious and a bit flattered, but then I checked them out and thought \u201cThey don\u2019t sound anything like Suede actually\u201d. But, I remember, just listening to them – I think I had it on my Walkman, or it might have been my iPod, I can\u2019t remember what technology it was – I remember listening to them on the underground and just thinking, \u201cGod, this music sounds like it’s made to be the soundtrack to get a tube train to\u201d. There\u2019s something mechanical and dark and beautiful and romantic about it, and it’s still a really beautiful record. I listen to it a lot, and ‘NYC’, is one of those records that I think I\u2019d be happy to be buried to. Was I doing drugs at the time it came out? Er… yeah, it was 2000, so it was a different phase for me. I was listening to guitar music again, for the first time in ages, and yeah, Interpol are definitely my favourite band of the last 15 years, I\u2019d say.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
